Wordless Wednesday

Mushroom Dump!

Figure I would just throw them all up at once. Now not only am I dating them, I am coloring coding them by location. The second one I was kicking myself because if I had went there a few days sooner, I would have had some species that I'd never seen before but they were black and dead when I got there.
The third place I was preoccupied with making sure I wasn't lost because I had never gone there before so I wasn't keeping a very good eye out for fungi. Next time I'll know where I am at/going so hopefully I'll spot more.

We are getting some nasty weather right now, lots of rain and thunderstorms that set the dogs to shaking. Last night was a mess waking up almost every hour because of loud thunder and the older dog unable to decide if he wanted to hide on the bed or not. Mean while the bull mastiff is trying to fit under a desk that wasn't big enough for her, poor babies :(

Mushrooms!

Went to the park yesterday and hit the 4 mile trail that winds through so many acres of woods. I didn't think I was going to see anything but I kept looking and sure enough they started showing up here and there ^_^

Put them together as one image and dated it so that I know when and who. I couldn't remember when the best time of year was to look so maybe this year if I do this it will be easier in the future.

Spotlight Mushrooms

Went to the park after some serious, heavy rain here in the hopes of finding my favorite photography subject; the mushroom. I found several willing subjects on my trek and made some interesting shots.

There were a few that made me think of people, like looking at the picture is seeing mushrooms out on a nice day, or a family portrait...weird, I know.

That last one really makes me think family. Then there is the shy looking one...

Who turns out to not be so shy when it lets me look at it's skirt! *gasp!*

Then of course there are the random flowers and chipmunk I saw.

Mushroom Monday

Some Statues And A Nursery

There is a plant nursery down the road from my Dad's house, and I use to love going there just to look at all the statues they would have there. So one hot, mosquito filled morning I went down there to see how much it had changed like everything else.

This was set up in the middle of the parking lot on display, it was on sale for $4899 :D It is amazing to look at though. The mosquitoes were pretty bad there with all the water from both them watering plants and the water fountains. So I didn't stay long, I wasn't fond of being turned into a buffet table.

I thought this passion flower was absolutely crazy!

The local library had some art work outside as well..

Can't forget the mushrooms...they were -everywhere-.

That was my 'vacation', not very exciting but good enough for me. :)

On The Trail Again

I went back a second time to the trail, determined to walk more of it this time. One way and back I did two miles this time. Of course the mushrooms were still in full force...

The egrets were doing their water thing..

The rabbits will always be about..

I had no idea what to make of this plant other then "pretty!" when I saw it. Now I know it is a Callicarpa bush..

No deer sightings this time, but they did leave a mark..

I love dead trees, and the random bird I didn't notice till three shots in :)

I love how I was seeing things I had never noticed when I lived there. Like this flower that I still can't find a name to put to it..
