Vacation Recap

Happy 2013 everyone! I hope everyone is doing well and had a wonderful holiday season. I've been back for over a week now but I was launched into a crazy busy schedule right after I came back and things are coming back to 'normal' now.

My 'vacation' was a good way to clear my head and shake off all the frustrations I was dealing with at work in preparation for the holidays, but am I glad to be back!
Not much happened while I was in Texas, we went to the zoo and spent most days trying not to go shopping and become broke. I have some pictures from the zoo but I still need to upload them to the computer...I just don't feel like going through them yet, lazy; I know.

I took my current cross-stitch project with me and got a huge chunk of it done.

It's about half done and I probably won't work on it for awhile as it's mostly what I did for those three weeks. I love that face though!

As always, I have so many ideas running rampant in my head that if I started any of them I would have five projects going on at once.
Right now though my new time killer is watching "Doctor Who", that show is addicting and Netflix has all six seasons. That is 86 episodes. So you know where I'll be.

Hiatus

Since I am having major fail at posting on here or getting anything done to be posted on here; I am putting the blog on hiatus. I leave Saturday morning for a three week vacation and won't want to worry about this while I'm away. I am only going to Texas again to be with family for the holiday, but it is still vacation. :) Since it is warmer there, maybe my seasonal depression will clear out enough for me to want to draw, cross your fingers for me! I truly hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, and a great new year. See you next year!

It Only Took...Forever

Well...two years later and I finally finished my kitty cross-stitch.
I have the next one started already too. I wonder how long it will take to finish it :D

Pittsburgh Zoo Trip

About a month ago I had visited the zoo. I went there with high expectations and left feeling a bit empty. They have lost a number of their animals, whether to old age or relocation and just didn't fill in the gaps. We had went first thing in the morning so a lot of them were still sleepy and not ready to face the chilly day. So here is what I could capture of my adventure. (They can all be clicked on for a larger version, just didn't want to stretch the page.)
First off were the lovely big cats. I was shocked to see the snow leopard up and moving about as she is usually asleep when I visit. As you can see the lions were still not fully awake yet, but they will always be my favorite.
The flamingos made me giggle a bit. They were making a huge racket when they all came out and when the keeps came by and feed them, it went completely quiet.
The elephants are my second favorite, they are so large but can be so gentle, it's amazing.
The monkeys are my least liked animal. There were more of them but they were either not wanting their pictures taken or my pictures came out way too blurry and got deleted.
My third favorite place, the aquarium. I just love seeing all the colorful fish and the other strange things that live in the water.
We thought the alligator was possibly dead o.O it just sat under the water and didn't move a bit.
There were a few more animals, but between them hiding or moving too much, no pictures turned out for them. I was most likely the only person there that was taking pictures of the flowers, wonder how weird that looked...

All The Things I Haven't Finished

Ever since I started this job as a stocker, I haven't made much time for any art as I am always tired when I get home. It doesn't help that the holiday season is coming up and it means a larger work load there too. What time I do make isn't much, and this is what I have so far..
This is as far as I have gotten on the eagle. The poor thing has been sitting at this stage for over a month now :(
I started on one mini painting, this is a crappy picture of it. You can't really see that the paint is shiny but it is and that is because it's nail polish. I came up with the idea when I realized I have all these polishes I don't like, won't use and didn't want to just throw out. Re-purposing sounded good.
This however is finished, was finished about a month ago. My first pony that is a crossover from Monster Rancher. I absolutely love the games, and didn't see anyone else doing crossovers with them. I want to do more, but there are a lot of things I want to do and not enough time to do them all at once. Maybe in a month I'll have a little more :/
