I can't believe I am almost done with this. Just have the detail stitches left (which I hate) and hopefully this will be the first cross-stitch project that I can say was done within a year. Woohoo!

Cat Outline
"First you draw what you see. Next, you draw what you know, and only then will you know what it is that you see." -Robert Beverly Hale
My brain is fighting me on this one, I know the head is tilted slightly but I keep trying to draw things on the face like they are straight up and down. Also, out of curiosity, I went and looked when the last time I drew anything feline like was; that would be almost nine years ago. I just might take a step back from this one and do some small studies, like on paws and eye to nose alignment.

Colored Pencil and Watercolor on Bristol
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. Though I am happy I did it, I was afraid I would give up on it. The new 4H pencil I had gotten was so hard, that I didn't realize it had dug into the paper. Every time I had to try to color into a groove I wanted to give in cause I was just waiting for it to look worse. At least I got the urge to do something rainbow-y out of my system.
Time to move on to the next one! I'm thinking cat..

Spotlight Mushrooms
There were a few that made me think of people, like looking at the picture is seeing mushrooms out on a nice day, or a family portrait...weird, I know.
That last one really makes me think family. Then there is the shy looking one...
Who turns out to not be so shy when it lets me look at it's skirt! *gasp!* Then of course there are the random flowers and chipmunk I saw.

Now You See Me...A Bit
Just like I already have my next idea set up, now I wonder how many times I will change it in my mind before it is final :D

Stripe Me Out
If you think a zebra doesn't have a lot of stripes, try drawing them and it will seem like they are never ending. Also, their stripes work well for confusing predators when they are in a herd; well the stripes work well to confuse an artist as well. If I made the mistake of looking away from what I was drawing to look carefully at the photo, I would look back down and not be able to find where I was at or where I was going with a line sometimes, the face was the worst at that.
Now it is time to color and I can't decide if I want to do watercolor for the background or not. I know if I do, it is best to do it first but I am afraid I will sit on my hands too long trying to decide! Should I just flip a coin or just go for it?! Ahhh!
On a totally different note, another lily sprout came up, super excited it did!!
